We want to encourage one another to stand firm in the faith and continue to uphold the word of truth, not giving in to the onslaughts of error.
The Lord urges us to “speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement.” 1 Cor. 1:10 Therefore, through the study of God’s word, we seek to come to agreement on all the teachings of Scripture that we may work together to proclaim the saving Gospel in the world.
To that end, we would like to continue what was begun last August. We are planning this second free conference which will focus more closely on some of the possible areas of difference that were identified at our last meeting.
Our plan is to have more of a group discussion based on essays and theses written by staunch Lutheran Theologians of the past. Such as:
Walther's Theses on Open Questions 1868 - which will include a discussion of what Scripture requires for fellowship.
The Antichrist - Willkomm Essay, Hanssen's
The Brief Statement : Of the Church Paragraphs24-30, Of the Public Ministry Para. 31-33,Of the Millennium Para.42, Of the Antichrist Para. 43-44, Of Open Questions Para. 44, Of the Symbols of the Lutheran Church Para. 45-48
Church Fellowship by Weiss - Including Radichel's chart of Unite and Separate passages.
Woman's Position - Pieper
Discussion of Mission work as orthodox Lutherans, led by Philippe Vollf
